The Pierce County Executive, with the approval of the Council, may acquire buildings, structures, places, or districts of historic or architectural significance by purchase, gift, devise, bequest, grant, or exchange when it is deemed necessary by the Executive and the Council, to preserve, protect or enhance said building, structure, place, or district, and when funds are available or other means of acquisition are deemed acceptable to the Executive, and approved by the Council.
