Volunteers are an integral part of the care for and protection of the park system. The Department believes that community volunteers help to enrich programs, promote a positive environment, and improve community relations. Volunteer programs enhance the objectives of the Department and promote a partnership between the Department and the community it serves.

A. Opportunities. Volunteer activities can be on a singular or ongoing basis and activities may include, but are not limited to:

1. Park or Trail Enhancement: pick up litter, maintain landscapes, beautify facilities, maintain trails, mulch;

2. Environmental Protection: remove invasive/noxious species, maintain native landscapes, care for existing plants and trees; and

3. Program Support: provide public education, event, and administrative support.
