MCIRT intends to reduce unnecessary involvement with first responders and emergency medical systems and promote recovery for persons with mental illness, chemical dependency, dementia, suicidal ideation, and other challenging behavioral and medical health care issues. MCIRT will provide Pierce County residents and first responders with a therapeutic, community-based alternative to jails and hospital emergency services.
