17C.80.030 Discretion of Building Official.

Where the International Property Maintenance Code purports to impose a mandatory duty upon the code official or the County by the use of the word "shall", such acts will be considered within the discretion of the Pierce County Building Official and the word "shall" in such provisions is deleted and replaced with the word "may".
A. The obligations imposed upon the property owner, builder, manager, or occupant shall remain mandatory.
B. The obligations in Section 107 of the International Property Maintenance Code entitled "Notices and Orders" shall remain mandatory.
