Prior to the issuance of any Temporary Road Closure Permit or of any General Right-of-Way Permit, the applicant may, at the discretion of the Department of Planning and Public Works, be required to provide a financial guarantee, to assure completion of the permitted activity within the permit time limit. Failure to complete the permitted activity within the permit time limit will cause Pierce County to assess liquidated damages as provided for in the latest version of Standard Specifications for Road, Bridge, and Municipal Construction as published by the Washington State Department of Transportation. In the Liquidated Damages formula, the original contract amount shall be defined as the value of the private or public contract. The financial guarantee may be either a bond or assignment of funds, on a form provided by Pierce County, and shall be in the amount determined by the Department of Planning and Public Works, but not less than $5,000.00.
